Virtual quiz night to raise money for Winchester homeless
Five students are hosting a virtual quiz night to raise money for homeless people in Winchester. With the cold weather on its way students think it is crucial to raise awareness and help those who are less fortunate in the local community.
Their aim is to combine having more fun during the lockdown and helping individuals that are in need of shelter this winter during the holiday season.
For people that wants to join the quiz on 25thof November at 6:30pm a £3 donation is recommended per person.
At the start their target was £300 which they have completed already having £359 donated so far.
For £2 pounds shelter can secure resident with the bed for a night and £10 provides meals, toiletries, and bed for the night.
Winchester students Sarah, Ethan, Ifsa, Mahrail and Emma has also made sure that there are love2shop vouchers for 1st, 2ndand 3rdplace for people participating in the Trivia Night.
One of the supporters said: “Thank you for your support, you have all worked hard to make this event happen and to make a difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness.”
Winchester Churches Nightshelter is working all year round to be able to help homeless people by providing them with accommodation, support services and food. Last year they served more than 12,00 meals and helped 47 residents to move on.
