A online family run art gallery based in Winchester has created a way for art lovers to still be able to access the peices during the pandemic.

Mike and Mell Hall, founders of Northwall Gallery, have lived and worked in Winchester since 2005 and have set up this new website to sell prints of photographs taken prior to the pandemic.

The company provide photographic support free of charge for a number of charitable organisations too, including Blue Apple Theatre, who offer adults with learning disabilities access to the arts, Hampshire History Trust, and also Hampshire Pride.

Mike has a great eye for an image, and Mell has a great eye for how that could be presented in a home. In 2020, Mike’s work was shortlisted for Landscape Photographer of the Year, and his images have featured in The Big Issue, Evening Standard, The Guardian, National Drama and Hampshire Life amongst others. Mike is a member of the Royal Photographic Society.

Mike said:  “I decided it was time to launch something a little different. So I set up Northwall Gallery as a way of showing off my photographic work and selling some prints. I’d tried and failed a few times before, and so this time I took it a lot more seriously.”

“We think in these times, your walls deserve great art work. If we can’t enjoy the outside like we used to, we think it’s good to bring that inside.”

One customer on the website said: “We have family in Winchester and our print from the Cathedral reminds us of all the wonderful trips we’ve had there. It hangs in our bedroom and we wake up to Winchester every morning.”
