Dame Judi Dench to speak for charity

Hollywood star Dame Judi Dench is coming to Winchester to participate in a talk for a charity that helps struggling parents.

The 81-year-old actor won an Oscar for her role in Shakespeare in Love and has appeared in award winning films such as A Room With a View, Iris and Mrs Brown.

She will be talking to raise money for Home-Start, a local charity which provides support for parents experiencing difficulties.

Dame Judi will be spending the evening talking about her experiences in and out of the spotlight and the talk will be followed by a book signing.

Home-Start Winchester chairman Liz Cooper said: “We are very grateful for the sponsorship from Dutton Gregory solicitors, which has enabled us to stage such an important event.”

Judi Dench In Conversation with John Miller will take place on December 12th at 6.30pm at Winchester Guildhall.

Tickets cost £15 and can be purchased from November 1 from the Winchester Cathedral Box Office.
