Many people start businesses for money; but only a handful start them with the intention of helping others.

Former Biochemistry graduate from the University of Winchester, has hit the high street shop Superdrug, with her organic, biodegradable, vegan, and sustainable skincare brand ‘Obvs’.

The brand was created after Sian was left with severe adult acne whilst undergoing two rounds of IVF in 2021.

“When I was going through IVF, it gave me terrible adult acne. It was so bad that it was painful both mentally and physically.”

“The doctors prescribed me some tablets to help clear it, but one of the side effects at the time said, ‘could cause infertility’.” She told her followers in an Instagram reel.

After suffering two miscarriages, she said she had “lost all trust in the system” and thus, started to research natural ingredients that could help clear her acne “without indulging in the use of chemicals that contained endocrine disruptors.”

Sian embarked on a journey to create a brand that embodied the values she stood for – ethically sourced, cruelty free, vegan, and organic.

Being scientifically inclined, and a free spirit at heart, Sian was able to formulate her own creams and balms, targeting both adults and children who suffer with skin conditions like eczema and acne.

Since opening up her lab in Warsash, Sian has further employed a humble six person team to assist her creations and is recently gaining international recognition for her renowned ‘Intensive Skin Recovery Cream’ in America.

“I gave it my all and now I want to make a difference to people who feel trapped by their skin conditions or insecurities. She said.
