Hampshire’s frontline services at risk

Residents across Hampshire have been warned that their frontline services are at risk from cuts.

About £140m of cuts are needed according to the council, with frontline services now vulnerable.

Council leader Roy Perry said: “Financial pressure now has forced us to seek savings across all areas, including those we’ve previously been able to protect.”

The council said that residents strongly support Hampshire’s frontline services, and would “prefer to make contributions for some discretionary services rather than lose them”.

These cuts come after £340m of budget cuts over the previous eight years.

A meeting will be held on Monday to discuss the budget.
