Nineteen-year-old Archie Cole is setting his sights on a breakthrough with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan — a promotion known for some of wrestling’s most iconic names, and one he now hopes to join.

Known as the Nightmare Kid, Cole earned a six-week training stint in Japan in May after impressing at a Manchester try-out, where he outperformed more than 40 of the UK’s most promising wrestlers.

“I did about five or six shows [during my time in Japan”

However, Cole faced more than just physical challenges. “The main struggle is the language barrier,” he told Winchester News Online. “Trying to plan matches are a bit more difficult, especially with certain moves you want to do, but wrestling is a global language and everyone understands the names of the moves.”

But due to the intensity of Japanese wresters, he stressed that there is ‘no time to mess up.’
