Care to dance? Whether it is a leap or a twirl the benefits of dance are so much more than what is seen on the surface.
Winchester students feel strongly that dancing has much more to offer as a sport and as an art form.
Wolves dance society agreed strongly and shared the reasons why they chose to dance.
Hannah said: “I’ve danced my whole life, it makes me feel more myself than at any other point in my day to day.”
Nicole said: “It’s how i escape because no matter what kind of things i’m going through i can just dance it all out.”
Sam said: “I dance because it is all I’ve ever known.”
A lot of these young dancers and performers have grown up taking part in this sport, whether it was from baby ballet classes or a spur of the moment musical, they all had a drive to dance.
But what exactly are the benefits of dancing?
Some might argue other sports are more beneficial for our bodies but it is not just our bodies sports like dance impact.

“I think people come to dance to get away from anything that is going on and it is nice to be
“with people you can just move around with and have a fun time with and just ignore whatever is going on.”
Dancing is not just following simple moves one after the other it does have a much deeper impact on our mind bodies and souls.
The mental impact it has is outstanding, dancing is an outlet that some people use to express themselves or to get away from the other problems that life throws at you.
