Student exclusion rates drop in Hampshire
Fewer students are being kicked out of Hampshire schools for poor behaviour, according to a Winol investigation.
Last year the permanent exclusion rate for primary, secondary and special schools was 0.04% – half the national average.
A freedom of information request (FOI) by Winol found that the permanent exclusion rate has “reduced significantly” over the last 10 years in Hampshire.
Persistently disruptive behaviour remains the main cause of students being removed from schools according to the Department of Education.
There are seven education centres in Hampshire dealing specifically with excluded students.
There have been a total of 743 exclusions in the 534 Hampshire schools since 2007.
